How We Make Money
We earn money from businesses, but never for a score or a position. Here is every way money comes in, and how we keep it away from the formula.
Where the money comes from
What businesses can pay for
Premium profile pages, reputation monitoring, competitor reports and quote requests that homeowners choose to send them.
Quote requests
We may earn a fee when you request a quote. Every quote form lists exactly which businesses receive your details.
Businesses can pay us for a claimed profile, leads or competitor reports. None of it touches the score or the order. If a business is a paying customer, its data profile says so. How we make money
Questions about the money
Can a business buy a higher score?
No. The scoring code does not read billing data. A paying business is scored with the same five measures and weights as everyone else, and its profile says that it pays us.
Do quote request fees favour some businesses?
No. A fee only applies after you choose which businesses receive your request, and the form lists each one by name. The ranking order is set before any request is sent.
Why publish where the money comes from?
A ranking is only worth checking if you can see what might influence it. Listing every revenue source lets you judge that for yourself.
