Questions to ask before you hire

1. Is your license active, and in this company's name? Check it yourself on the state licensing board's site.
2. Who pulls the permit, and is it in the price? It should be the business, and it should be in writing.
3. What is the payment schedule? Payments should follow stages of work, not a large deposit up front.
4. What does the warranty cover, and for how long? Ask for the terms in writing.
